No Apologies: The Sacred Work of Mothering

ree

The Days of Awe—Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur—invite deep reflection, a chance to examine our lives and realign our daily rhythm with God’s vision for us.

Each of us is born with a unique mission, a role only we can fulfill. To help us on this journey, God equips us with a distinct mix of qualities, strengths, limitations, and resources. It is our task to discover that mission and faithfully use what we have been given.

Many struggle to discern their calling, unsure of God’s plan or whether their efforts align with His will. Yet, often we search far and wide for our purpose, instead of embracing the mission He placed closest to us.

You may never know if God wants you to cure a disease or lead a movement, but if He has given you a child, you know with certainty that He has entrusted you with a mission of eternal significance.

A mother blessed with children must understand this truth: God has entrusted her with the highest of callings, the nurturing and shaping of His children. By granting her a child, He has chosen her, uniquely qualified, to guide that particular life. Every moment spent caring for her child or building a loving home is not just important, it is sacred work, a clear fulfillment of God’s plan.

Mothers, do not apologize for your mothering. Do not be embarrassed. Whether you stay home full-time or balance many roles, claim with pride your most vital calling: being a mother. You may never know if God wants you to cure a disease or lead a movement, but if He has given you a child, you know with certainty that He has entrusted you with a mission of eternal significance.

Mothering is your sacred calling, but knowing how to nurture your child intentionally makes it even more powerful. Join Nurturing Toddlers, my self-paced online course, to learn what your little ones most need and how you can best fulfill those needs every day.
